Default Frame sliders Question

Could some one tell me how far thier Framesliders stick out from the plastic?

I am going to make mine and would like to know how far out to have them.

Also delran or billet?

Go with delrin, billet will act as an accelorator in the event of a slide. When you want the slider to slow the slide down. I want to say that they stick out about 3 inches from the plastic. I went with a vortex setup cost about 60 bucks I think. 20 for the bases, and 20 bucks a piece for each puck. Unfortunately I can say they are worth their money and hold up extremely well, even during a high side...

i don't know about a frame slider making your bike slide faster....but the biggest problem that i've seen with the billet/cf sliders is that instead of griding down or when needed breaking off like the softer derlin sliders they will catch on imperfections in the ground and BEND the frame where they are mounted, which is exactly the opposite of what they should be doing

I have tested the Vortex frame sliders (not on purpose) and I know for a fact that a high speed get off (80-100 mph) they do work. The bike did slide but not far, I tumbled more than 150 feet farther down the track. Results were: the bike needed the front fairing (crack and rash), rear tail piece (rash), shifter lever (rash), left peg (small scratch) , clutch lever (bent and rash) , left engine side cover (big rash), lower left fairing (small rash) and a new Vortex left base and puck (bent and worn). Now, it did save the Frame which is what I wanted. I did however brake my pelvis in 4 locations and broke three ribs. The bike was easy to fix compaired to....

Ride safe,
Mike
