ok i know about the helmet, ok so check this out last winter i was reading a magazine that was compleatly unrelated to bikes and found this product it is a beanie that hardens instantly on impact, it isnt designed to be a helmet just a protector, it says that it is designed to save yourself on a snowboard if you hit a rock or a tree with your head, i am trying to find one but the only place that has them is a place in canada (any canadian members i could use some help) i figure you have to be going atleast 20-30 on a slowboard so this should be good for abound town stuff right (i live in a small town, not a freeway for 4 hours) le tme know what you think www.ribcap.com

It would have to harden in a millisecond to work and I can't see that happening. If your gonna put that on, you may as well put on a Helmet. Even a cheap helmet is better that that beanie. But 5 or 10 cheap ones ($40) and toss them after you damage them. It's better that nothing in a low speed crash/ fall or while learning to stunt. Your head is only as valuable as the helmet to protect it.

Cops around here are fairly more decent than other places, but they don't **** around when it comes to helmets. They'd have you infront of the red and blues on a curb so fast for wearing that thing, you'd think their squad cars rev to 15,5 too! If your helmet is such a big frikkin deal, why are you even bothering with the bike at this point?

I'm still shocked that you'd actually consider wearing that thing while you ride....!?!?1? WTF?
