Should have kept your legs locked against the tank and all you would have needed to do at that point of the pic is let off the brake. But with the way you are off the seat it looks more like panic mode.

Not an expert here, but 3 mph is still vertical from this viewpoint. I have a very good looking helmet as well (Shoe RF-1000 Zemke 2 TC-5... very nice!) but as good as it looks I still have it on when doing stupid stuff. If you sit down and think about it, putting it on while trying new stuff on anything with an engine would really be the best time of all to wear it.

Just my 2 cents.

Boy it's a good thing your helmet was secured safely to your bike and not your head, where it could have been damaged!

Nice Stoppie buy Not So Smart way of doing it. You are very lucky to be laughing and writing about it. That helmet should be on your head anytime you ride! My co-worker crached right in front of me yesterday and it was a good thing he had ALL his safety gear. Helmet, Jacket, & riding pants. His bike is messed up bad but he was able to walk away from it. He was only going 30-35 mph around a turn leaving work and lost the rear tire (New) slid and hit the curb; then the bike flipped.

You lucked out!

I hate to pile on dude...but ya...WEAR YOUR HELMET! I don't care if I'm moving my bike around my house, I wear the helmet. For us who have been down, we all know it pays to wear it. I would be DEAD if I didnt have a helmet on or one of those retarted skull cap helmets! In short...please provide a good example to our "young" members )
