Default Clear Alternatives Tailight not working correctly??

Hi all

Just got a 2005 with the above included on the bike and after looking at pics at http://clearalternatives.com/Merchan...ode=TAILLIGHTS

I notices mine seems like the majority of LEDs are not working as shown by my pic.......is this normal? any idea of what is wrong and how to fix?

also, it seems like when you hit the brake, they barely get any brighter

Possibly a connection/voltage drop. Good luck

Default check connections first, then ....

Remove tail light from tail of bike and shake it. If it rattles there is a large resistor on the led board that broke off ( this happened to the 636 I bought for the wife). Either you can contact clear alternitives or resolder it on yourself (this was my route). Works fine now.
Good Luck

hmm, maybe ill try that...i looked at all the wires and found bare wire on the ground wire of the harness, so im guessing it shorted out and messed up the leds maybe the resistor....how did you take it apart to fix it since it is a sealed light??

sorry for the delay, dont get on computer much, my tail light had screws on the back side and wasnt sealed, pulled screws and popped it apart. screws on inside held board in place and went from there.
