Default Brake Lights aren't working correctly.....

My brake light comes on but when you hit the brakes it doesn't get brighter. The wiring is ok and the bulb is ok, I put a new one in. I have a friend that said there is an adjustment **** on the foot brake but I haven't been able to find it. I have a 2004 Ninja 250R. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There should be an adjustment know on the foot brake, but if the hand brake does the same thing, then I doubt that is your problem.. Are you sure you have the right bulb in there? Did the problem just start?

Yeah just started and I got the new bulb from the Kawasaki dealer here so its definitely the right bulb. Maybe I'll have to trouble shoot wiring or fuses next. Its not the original lights, I got a kit for it. Yes the hand brake does the same thing. Any Ideas??

double check that its the right bulb, and also make sure the bulb is in all the way, on my new 06 i had one blinker not working, it was in in but it wasnt making contact with the terminals.

I think there is only one bulb back there for the tail light and brake lamp. Just a standard dual filament dual contact bulb. Like an 1157.... You might double check the bulb. I have seen them bad straight out of the package. You never know. You might also pull the bulb, rotate it 180 degrees, and put it back in..... You might also double check that none of the other parking lamp bulbs on the bike are blowed.. If not, then it is wire chasing time. [:@]

If you have to chase wires, usually it is the ground side that goes out. WHen it is dark out, with the bike running, turn your turn signal on. Does it make any brightness difference in the brake lamp bulb?

I've checked and rechecked the bulb...all the bulbs are good....will check to see if the brake light dims when the signal comes on.....Yep its an 1157 bulb and I bought the two pack and tried BOTH bulbs. No other lights are out I checked. Gonna check fuses next then get the voltage meter out....good thing I grew up with a dad thats an electrician! Plus if worse comes to worse theres a Kawasaki dealer about 5 blocks from me. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!!
