I tightened and lubed the chain before I even put the fairings back on.

Check this out though:

My buddy, the kid whos house my bike was out when it got joyridden and dumped, found out who did it. I just found this out like 3 hours ago.

He's from a real small town (calais vt) and word gets around. His little sisters boyfriend heard the kid in shop class talking about it. He confronted him about it and the kid admitted it, aparently not thinking the info would make its way back to me. The kid that did it happens to be my buddy's roomate's little brother. Aparently he's a mess and is always getting into trouble and causing problems. I guess he's 18 or 19.

So the deal is what do you do if you're me. Kick his ***?!?! Most likely. If he had just admitted it right off and helped me fix it and pay for everything (after paint, levers, signals, sliders, headlights and decals-if i put them on- its over $300, not including my time and transmission work if it ends up needing it.) Do I demand money? Do I call the cops? I dont really have proof.

I think i'll give him a chance to apologize and pay me voluntarily. If that doesn't happen I would really get a lot of satisfaction out of putting some hurt on him.

i would confront myself as you said and see if he offers to pay. if not, you might have to teach him a lesson. and then still get some money from him.

Good call, give him a chacne to "redeem himself" and if he isn't smart enough to see that's the wisest thing to do then help educate him. Man I sound like an a$$ but i hate people that can't see/don't carehow there irresponsible behavior effects others. Good luck.

I got the kids number today from my buddy. I called him up and chewed him out pretty hard and said some pretty mean stuff. He hung up on me. I think I put the fear of god in him cause he called back and owned up to it. I guess he was hammered and thought it'd be a good idea to take out my kawi and run it around the building next door. The parking lot is this loose white limestone so its not surprise he dumped it.

Anyway I calculated the total to be $431 and he said he'll pay me and apologize in person. So provided all goes well I'm pretty happy i figured everything out and am getting some money back.

enjoy your weekends.

Definately let him know he's dumb for what he did but is being a man by what he's doing now. and I hope the noise isn't anything serious that doesn't cause problems down the road. Good work man
