Time to change the tires on my ZX6R so I'm looking for some suggestions. Will buy from this shop-- Motorcycle Accessories|4WO since they are offering me a good deal, and I'm leaning towards the 2CT’s. Are they good for everyday use? Other opinions on the best tires for on and off the track are welcome. Thanks guys for any help.

 

Tire questions are similar to which oil is best or which method is better to break in an engine. Everyone will have their preferred product or method.

I have heard good things on the 2CT's. Also have heard that they do not last as long as expected for that riders' expectations. Any performance tire is going to be short lived (rider demands/input factors being key to the life of the tire). I average about 2500 miles on a set of DOT tires with my supersport rides.

Agree with Drag^, it really depends on what you want to do with them; how you ride. If you're just a commuter/weekend rider who really doesn't get all "Scott Russell" on the street, (i.e., like me), I'd suggest the Shinko Raven's. Great mileage, decent handling/stick for everyday riding, and a GREAT price. (I believe Shinko acquired the Yokohama tooling.) However, these are not track tires; I'd go with something considerably more sticky.
