Default air filter question

Well i need a new air filter for my bike. The stock one in it now is pretty dirty. I called the dealer and they dont' have any in stock and the K&N filter they said they have in stock and is cheeper then the oem one. My concern is with a slip-on and a K&N I would need to have my bike retuned wouldn't I? Its an 04 636 and I don't really want to buy a PC3. Would be the bike be running that much leaner with the slip-on and K&N? If so then I'll just have them order a OEM one and wait for it to come in. i just can't belive OEM filter is more then a K&N.

Check with a motorcycle parts & accessory store; not the dealer. There are companies that used to make stock replacement filters like K&L, Tucker Rocky, Emgo etc.
