i have an 86 ninja 600r that i just bought. the guy told me the carbs needed to be synchronized. i got it to run and bought the motion pro gauge to sync them but the 3rd cylender barely comes up no matter where i turn the screw. the other 3 are equal its like the 3rd cyl isnt working. it wont rev fast like its supposed to could a tight valve cause this? what else can it be? what are the valves supposed to be set at? any help is greatly appreciated

 

get the carbs cleaned and rebuilt...

 

Did you check the compression on the # 3 cylinder. As for the valve clearances you might get the dealer to tell you or go buy a service manual, they caos about 25.00 check ebay.

 

carbs were just cleaned bike only has 12k didnt check the compression yet its too cold outside but i put the plug on the hole just sitting there and it blew it right out on top of the head so i think it has compression but ill check it as soon as it warms up
