2006 zx-6r loss of power problem
ok, I just bought a used zx-6r, and at first it wasn't giving me any problems, but recently I've been having this problem where after a long ride or a lot of shorter rides in the same day, my bike will start to cut out on me. at first it will lose throttle for a half a second, then come back. It will do that for a few minutes then I will lose throttle. my bike will still be running, there just wont be any throttle applied to it, and if I try to shift the engine will stop, and when the bike finally stops, the engine shuts off, then the FI light comes on and I think the servo starts to move a little or something is going on with the bike. It happens at different RPM's so I don't think thats the problem. can anybody help me figure this out without going to a mechanic? I'm a college student, my bike only has liability so I can't afford to pay someone to fix it. but if it is a serious problem, I an a helicopter mechanic, so if someone can walk me through the process of tearing my bike apart I can do that, but I really hope it doesn't come to that, if there's a simple fix I'd like to try that first
I know the 05's had a problem with the ECU's overheating because of the undertail exhaust. If the 06 has the same problem you can pull out the ECU and add some thermal protection underneath it, and that usually takes care of the problem.
Welcome to KF, What helos are you on?

The only modifications to the bike are a quickshifter and a two brothers exhaust. if the ECU is the problem then where is it? and also where could I get some good thermal insulation? I've also been using injector cleaner just in case the problem is the injectors or maybe water in the fuel, but I'm starting to think that isn't the issue.
oh and Prom, I have no idea what you're talking about with helos.
