RE: hmm, ride is getting the mods
Hey Dragone, I've been told by some insiders that Kaw's tend to have fairly hot (lift/duration) cams installed stock from the factory, and that going aftermarket probably won't get that much extra punch for the $.
The issue lies in the exhaust cam. If you cannot get rid of the spent gases than a hotter intake cam may be pointless for that riders' needs. The 06's went smaller valves to increase velocity over volume. I havearace intakeon the shelf when or if needed later, but wanted to try the degreed stock Intake cam, the .5mm head gasket to try first. The .5mm was chosen for a safety factor when the internals start growing at rpms. Was not sure that these guys would actually test the squish so played it safe. (I only bought one .5mm gasketand they did not request another one, so do not think that they clayed it) Can go to a .45mm gasket if I feel that I need to. I miss not working on my own toys.
Thanks for the cheer, I am of course curious on the khi ecu tuning tomorrow. They nor I have played with these. So hopeing not to blow the engine through the roof of the dyno trailer! lol
