Question gasoline leaking through the carburator

I tried looking through the past posts, but to no avail.

just bought a 86 ninja r1000 and it's leaking gasoline through the carburator. do you think that will stop if I clean the carb or do I need to buy a new carburator?
Thanks.
Rob
