whats up? i used to be on here but its been awhile, and now i sold my 636 and bought a new zx10. I have been looking for new fairing bolts and windshield bolts, but i want them in black. all i can find is chrome and polished. I found site called bikebolts.com and they have them, but i read on another forum that when they come in, they all have different size heads and dont fit the fairings good. any suggestions. thanks

 

I may be able to help you out but it will not be the same style as factory. this will have a round head with the allen wrench slot. It's flat black. If all the bolts from the 05 10R works for the 07 10R, thenI can help you out.

Do what I did. head up to the local ace bring one each bolt for them to match up. . I always keep extras bolts.

thanks for help. I been working lot and havent been on here to check reply. I changed out the windscreen bolts with black powdercoated spikes and have the same on the bottom fairings.

 

search hotnutz or hot nuts or i think pro bolt. there all black anodized screen and fairing bolts. also look on e bay, sometimes they sell complete bolt kits with everything you need.

 

one thing you could do is find a local plater/metal finisherand, depending on what the bolts are made out of, plate them in a zinc/black or black oxide. if they are stainless (which I think they are) then a black oxide is probably your best bet. usually they have minimum lot charges of a couple hundred dollars.

 

Just go thru your supplier and get the button head metric components that are already flat black.

supplier= msc, mcmastercarr, etc.
