Default 07 zx 10r , mph is fluctuating, digital speedo

i have a 07 zx 10r and my problem is i have a digital speedo and the mph is fluctuating ( when i feel like im doing 25mph it reads 0 when i feel like im doing 90 it reads 45) every other fuctions work

i'm thinking the sensor is dirty on the wheel but dont know where it is

if anybody can help id appreciate it


it kind of sucks if its something serious cause my warrenty was up last month

The sensor (if it is like mine), is mounted into the cover over the sprocket. I am not sure how grime would affect it, but you can just remove the 4-5 bolts holding the cover on and check it out. Good luck man.

a few years ago my buddy had a similar problem w/ his '02 R6, his speedometer was all over the place. i'm not for sure but i think he replaced his computer/ecu or something. i'll track him down and find out for sure

thanks to all who helped i fixed the problem dont know what i did but i trying to get the speed sensor out without taking the tank and everything else off but was only able to take the wire connection off so i put it back on the next day i used the bike it was now working go figure


but thanks again to all

hahaha, thanks man, I am more into the triple digits than the triple X door options.
