Default Sprocket Help

Need a little help on Sprockets. I have a 2006 650r. I believe it comes stock with 46/15 sprockets. I also think I understand that if I drop a tooth in the front, that it is like going up 3 teeth in the back.
I am looking for something that will help on the bottom end.
Quickness from light to light. What is the best change for that?
Nothing too drastic but enough to make a definite difference.

I do not like going lower than a 15 tooth front sprocket. Puts too much of a bind on a good chain I think for longevity. I would go up 4 on the rear from the sounds of it. Good luck

From light to light you're not running up through all the gears anyway, so stock gearing is probably best.

Dropping a tooth at the front for this means that you'll have to shift that much sooner and lose time as a result.

Stock gearing allows power wheelies in first and second, so you can't accelerate any faster than that in the real world. Dropping a tooth does improve mid range acceleration a bit, at the expense of higher cruising revs, some hit on the fuel consumption and about 5 mph off the top speed.

Because of constraints on sprocket size, the usual mod is to keep the stock front sprocket and go to a 48 tooth rear. That seems to be about the best compromise if you really can't pull power wheelies with stock grearing.
