Default Kick stand question on the 2008 650R

Theres a tube that I think goes into a spring on the kickstand, does anyone know what thats for? Im not sure if I kicked it out, or it fell out, but is it important and does it need to be in that spring?

It's a breather/vent hose for the gas tank. Yeah, it just sorta hangs outdown there. It will sometimes make strange hissing noises too[8D]

Don't fill the tank too full, never past the bottom of that metal neck on the inside.
