I got my bike
While this site was crashed, I picked up my bike. It's a 1987 EX500A with 43K and change on the clock. I had to drive it home from the seller's house; a 235 mile road trip with everything from four-lane traffic to scenic, easy-rider type two lane blacktop. A little rain, some wind, a little bit of everything.
The bike is cosmetically rough but it's a blast and runs GREAT. I averaged about 65-70 and hit 85 a few times and it rode great. Lots of pull at the mid-high rpm's, just like the 05 Ninja I bought new. New front pads, new tires, fresh oil, coolant and brake fluid, recent chain service, carbs have been redone, new battery...The Yoshi 2 into 1 sounds awesome. I paid a grand even for it.
I'm shopping for a newer bike but have no plans to get rid of this one. I've got basically nothing into it and I can get good insurance (no comp/coll since the bike is worth like a buck) for ten bucks a month.
Just wanted to share.
