Default Cam chain

What is the replacement or inspedtion of your cam chain? Is there an adjustment on it? (my honda had one) Also I want to thank everyone for there input on helping me out with this first bike. I Think I have everything worked out except for the noise which I believe is from a loose cam chain. Pic is of everything back together with the fresh paint. Thinking of adding some black stripes here and there along with new decals what do you guys think.

Default RE: Cam chain

I would test the camchain tensioner. Because the camchain is in a constant oil bath and not exposed do dirt & debris, they should last the life of the engine unless something goes wrong.
One thing that can go wrong is the camchain tensioner. I would remove it, reset it to the same spacing (if your bike is an older one) or number of ratcheted clicks (if a newer one.) Then just reinstall it and the noise will most likely go away.
If not, I would replace the CCT first and see if the noise goes away. Replacing the camchain is a PITA.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.
Peace!
