15T countershaft sprocket A+ Cheap mod!
I ordered this two weeks ago when I got the new bike, thought it needed it based on the one I rode the day before. I got used to the bike over the next 1300 miles and thought it might be fine without the lower gearing but tried it anyway, glad I did. Gives it a much snappier feel, only adds 400 RPM at the indicated 70 MPH, 5600 to 6000 RPMs and feels fine at 75-80-85-90 too. Good mod, transforms the bike for under $23, feels more like a 500cc 4 now, (without the weight). Jim.

yea thats one of the first mods most of us klx'ers do... expecially with just a 250 cc.... our stock is a 14t, i have dropped mine to a 13t, one tooth up front is equal to 3 in the back, some guys just change the rear sprocket to a bigger one, but then you need to buy a new chain.

speedo shouldnt be off... like he said its connected to the front wheel..... but another bad thing is the chain wears faster because it has a tighter radius to turn around...

Why would the speedo be off? Isn't the cable connected to the front wheel?

Sorry different bikes, if you have dial speedo it will not be afected but if your electronic or digital that is run off rpms then you will have a speedo that is incorrect.
