Default Rough start

Ok Im about to winterize the bike and b4 I started I wanted to start her up for a sec and let the gas run out of the line , and when I did this It sounded like the motor was working REALLY hard like it wasnt a knocking sound but a really rough engine noise . Mind you it is about 45-50 degrees in my garage so im guessing that might have been the problem, Either way I immediatly turned the bike off after a few seconds of hearing the motor. Any ideas would be a big help .

That time frame is not bad. what was the idle speed when these noises were happening at? Low idle rpms? Moisture in the gas? Right now, am thinking of just what you mentioned. Just too cold, a cold start which sounds abit rough on initial start up. the choke work to increase the idle until temp is reached before you shut the fuel off?
