new or used
I want to get a ninja 250r, but i am not sure if i should get a new or used. a new would be $3,000 and one that is about 4 years old i think i could get for $2,000 - $2,200. is it worth chancing it and getting a used from some random guy or should i just spend the money and get a new one with a warranty and everthing?

Welcome to the forums....
Not much extra money, go brand new and get the warranty, etc... You can prob make the dealer throw in a helmet. And they will give you a discount on your next purchase... For gear or what not. JMO...

welcome to the forums!
I wish I could have bought a used 250R when I was looking.[:@] Get a used one if you can. 250R's are built rock solid, so your chances of having any major problems with a used bike are limited. Plus, if you think you can get a new ninja at $3,000.00 even, you're very mistaken. By the time you walk out of the dealer ship with your NEW ninja, your total will be more in the neighborhood of about $3,400-3,800.00 easy.
Buy a used one. You'll be JUST as happy with it as a new one!
Good luck!

If this is your first bike, I would get a used one. Because when it falls over in the driveway, or God forbid, you go down on the street, it won't hurt so much knowing your bike just got damaged.

Another thing to take into consideration......is most 250 and 500 are only driven for a year or so before people are getting rid of them to go up to a bigger bike. Most are driven fairly easily without too much abuse. I'd go with used if you can. Just take your time in looking, the right bike will come up.
