If your handy with a TIG welder I guess, cuz the footpegs look aluminum. Otherwise you could construct your own...or construct your own. lol. The 250 aftermarket is very limited in choices. But don't let me stop you from looking! A rearset is what you are looking for.

haha. yeah, the most commonly assumed displacement for me is 600. Always from a hardley driver. And yes i do think it would fit, but ask someone who knows before commiting to something.

I haven't counted my teeth, yet, but I read somewhere that factory is 14/45. Many have gone to 15/45 to improve the RPM level and some Texas "flat-landers" say they have gone to 14/42 which really helps them. Changing the primary is waaay easier than changing the rear sprocket, and a lot less m-o-n-e-y. On my stock '06, I'm turning about 7200 at 60mph indicated. By the way, my speedo reads fast by about 5mph (GPS checked).

I ride to work as often as I can with the 250. I have stock gearing, but run pods. I also have a Elite III rear. It really raises the rear since the profile is mondo compaired to what most use. Wears great!! Since I have 20 twistie and 20 hiway to work. I ride it pretty hard when I get the chance! it has many knee dragging miles on it. That Elite III is doing very well. I even did a session at Jennings with it, and it held well! So far I have about 3K+ on it and it is in great shape. Most of the other rears, I get about 2K and they're toast. MPG is 45-58.

Yes 45 is stock rear, its stamped on the sprocket if you dont feel like counting.

Its fine to run the RPMs that high, it is better to change the gearing if you do itregularlybut it will slightly affect low end.

The one thing you really need to keep an eye on is your oil levels, over 10,000 rpms the engine mists it into the airbox. Also some have had issues with 06-07 years that have an incorrectly installed/length crank case breather tube. Which manages to push most of your oil into the bottom of the airbox.

Check your oil before every ride as well as every 100 miles if its a long high RPM ride. If the engines warm just wait 5 min before checking the level.

Funny you mention that. I have pods and the vent is uncapped on the case, but I have the little K&N filter to install, and I don't have a bit of spray. I have no answer why, and the oil level is correct. I use Rotella 15/40, but if I'm gonna do a track day and take the 250 for a few laps, I'll run the Synthetic. 18K+ and it needs a chain and sprockets......bad!!

That tube goes directly to your crankcase which means you have an open port on your engine for debris to get in.

If you have the little filter you need to install it, also dont plug the tube because it will affect engine pressures and could cause problems.

I ride everyday to and from work. bout 25-35 miles a day, round trip, depending if I take I-70 here in Maryland, or the US40 and some backroads if its nice and im lazy about getting home. The pizzacutter tires suck in the wind, but the gas mileage is about 68 for me.
and thats a 210lb, 6'3", on a 87 with 23k on her. I like my ladies old :P
