Just a few miles away from the 500 mile tune-up.
How many of you 250 ninja owners did your own break-in tune-up? i.e; adust your valves, sync up the carbs. I should be getting my motion pro mercury carb synchronizer in another day or two so I can sync my carbs, I am also planning on doing the valve adjustment myself. Is there anything specific I should know before tearing apart my bike?
Thanks for all the advice people![:@] Ok, i'm not really mad.
I did my valve service today. Adjusting the valves wasn't really that bad. having the adjusting nuts instead of shims really kicks ***. I wonder why not more bikes use this setup. The biggest pain was getting to the valve cover. Removing all the body fairing was the worst part. In all, from a 1-10 difficulty rating, I give it a 4. Oh, I also got my carb synchronizer today! It really helped out a lot in smoothing out the throttle.

Nice man.... Ya, the adjutment nuts are a whole lot nicer than shims. Were the valves off? Did you check all your bolts and nuts all over the bike just to make sure everything stayed tight?

No, I didn't check all the bolts, just the ones neccesary to do the job. I'm sure everything is tight though, in fact some of the bolts seemed almost too tight!
Ya, those bolts seem to tighten themselves soemtimes!! I Just changed out my bar ends, and it took an act of congress to get the old ones off...
LOVE the sig, BTW...... lol
