Hey guys, I'm a noob when it comes to motorcycles and insurance. But I was wondering if theres a way I can buy a 2008 Ninja 250 (( Pay the full amount as a down payment )) would I have to pay insurance? I ask that because I'm planning on just bascially driveing it back and forth on my drive way (( Drive way is like 1/2 of a mile )) and just to learn how to drive off of it then sell it and buy something else and get insurance on that. Why would you buy a new bike as your first bike. Just buy a used one so that if you drop it wont matter as much. On top of it being alot cheaper instead of paying all of the fees for a new bike and then selling it.

Welcome to KF. I agree, buy a used motorcycle so if it's dropped it doesn't really matter; but along the lines of insurance wise I'm not sure, does anyone else?

 

if you buy a bike straight up you dont need insurance cuz you wont be financing it through a bank. i wouldnt recommend a new bike as a first but if youve got money to burn go for it.

 

if you live near florida buy my ninja 250. Its an 07 silver with only 2500 miles in pristine condition.
