Unhappy Gear problems

Hey guys, I have a 2008 250 ninja live in TN but lived in FL for 9 months and moved back. My bike has been amazing and this is my first problem with it. It has 12,000 miles on it and here is my problem. I shift in to 1st gear and start driving as usual but around 5 or 6,000 rpms it sounds like the chain starts missing the gear. i pull the clutch in slightly and it does the same thing. I have only pulled it out twice in the last month due to cold and rain. It did this last time but i pulled back in to my drive way and looked it over, took it back out did 80 mph on it and did fine. Now it's doing it again. Any help would be greatly appreciate

Check your chain and sprocket for wear and tension (slapping of the chain on the swing arm is not good). First thoughts that is to your above statement.

Welcome to KF

My back sprocket is in OK shape however my front sprocket is worn down considerably. Good call, now I just have to change out both sprockets and chain. Someone told me it's good to change all three at once. Thanks again
