So today I decided to get the bike inspected, and I had my sister follow me in the jeep. We get there and its about 25 miles one way. Everything is fine until on the was back the bike starts surging. In 6th at around 7k it would start dropping rpm's and even with full throttle the rpm's wouldnt go up. I shifted into 5th... nothing, 4th... nothing. So I clutch it to bring it to the shoulder and it dies immediately. I thought it had to be something with gas but I wasnt sure cause it looked like it had gas in it but not that much. So I switch it to reserve and try to start it and nothing happens. Then after a minute it starts with full choke. Same thing happened two more times. Then after the third time it was fine. It actually seemed a little faster lol. So I'm not sure whats goin on with it. Does it take a long time after I switch it to reserve to get the gas in the bowls? And does the surging sound like what happens when this bike runs out of gas? I added some more at the gas station so Im gonna see tomorrow too but Im not sure how much I trust this bike anymore.

 

yup when it surges just reach down and switch it over to res. it does take a minute to start when the bowls run dry.

 

Yea now the bike runs fine. I think i mustve had bad gas or I didnt give it enough time. Im gonna run it out the gas and fill it up with stabil or something. Is there a fuel filter on the ninja 250?

 

no fuel filter, but you can always add one

 

And I would recommend that.
