Default first bike first time rider winter project

Hello all, i just bought myself a 04 250zzr(the canadian model) hence being from ontario, anyways its gonna be my project over the next few months, due to when i got it was dropped, so i pick it up for a price i couldnt say no too, ya know?...anyways mechanically the bike is sound i was just wondering what are the best places for parts ie...front fairings(keep in mind the canadian model) headlight, and guage cluster...im sure when i look around on this forum ill figure more out :P

Welcome to the site. Sounds like you got a project up there. Do they have the MSF in Canada? Motorcycle Safety Foundation class. If they do, you might want to sign up so as to stay alive. Again welcome and have fun.

they do got the course yes, but my friend just got last seat for october, dastard! next class will start in spring so no biggie, will just give me more time getting the bike back together over the winter months, ill post some pics through out the progress im sure.

just got it home the other day now and the project has started, gotr the plastics revomed, well what was left of them and the front is now off...headlight, cluster etc...lubed up the chain and did its first oil change and filter...its gonna be a long fun winter

a couple more oh and if anyone knows the best place for parts for the zzr250 please share the info! or if anyone knows what swapble from the us model to the canadian model would be great too ie headlight? handle bar? and lights/choke controls?

have fun with that dood. im sure youll enjoy all the hours you put into it after the winter is over and it will make riding that much sweeter.

check out ebay periodically and you will find cosmetic parts there, sometimes at a good price. i've gotten quite a few parts there, including a carb that has worked out awesome. that carb got my baby back on the road for a hell of a lot less than the local bike shop parts dept and bikebandit.com.
