Default Changed fork seals and oil.

Ok hopefully I didn't damage the rods, but it really isn't that bad changing the seals. The worst part is that 6mm hex head which stripped out on both forks. I got the one off by pounding in a 1/4" hex socket. On the other fork I got the seal out without removing the rod and just replaced the seal and dust cover.

I did put a heavier fork oil in, I went with 15w. And put about 200-225cc back in. Let me tell you the front suspension is awesome compared to how my bike was. When I would come home and go into the driveway it felt like the front would come close to bottoming out and that was going real slow under 5mph. now it just compresses in alittle bit. It feels perfect to me. I just rode around the block and it was just so smooth even when letting off the throttle it doesn't jerk down anymore.

Anyways I hope they don't leak and I won't have to do this for a long time again. Only 1 fork was leaking but I replaced the seals in both of them foor the heck of it.

Good to hear it went well. I remember thinking it would be a difficult job when I started in on my KZ, but was surprised how little there is to it.

Don't suppose you took any instructional pics? Figured I'd ask. Maybe we could start a section on instructions/hints for these type of jobs which could benefit those of us that haven't had to perform it yet. What do you all think?

Well I didn't use all the proper tools for the job so it took a little longer. And after I couldn't get the 6mm hex bolt out it got frustating. So sorry i didn't take any pictures when doing it. It was my first time doing this also, next time I can take pictures and do a write up since I know how to do it now lol.
