I'm brand new to riding motorcycles and I was thinking about purchasing a used KLR 650 for my first ride. I was hoping to get some input on some common things to look/listen for when buying a used KLR, common issues, whats considered high mileage etc.

Welcome aboard! Buying used is great, especially for your first bike. Obviously you want to inspect it for damage, look for scrapes, those are you indications it went down. Ask about maintenance, did he change the oil and if so how often. Ask if the valves have been adjusted if it has over 7,500 miles on it. Ask about what upgrades he's done to the bike and if it was jetted. Good luck!
