Default New member intro

I'm new to the forum, but not to bikes as I'm a 49 year old guy who has 44 years on bikes. I started on minis and went to motocrossers and a few races. I wasn't ever the fastest but it didn't matter as long as it was fun. Streetbikes, sportbikes, but always a dual sport in the garage. I just got rid of a 2007 Harley Sportster 1200R to get my new 2009 KLX250S. I got into an HD forum and really enjoyed that more than the HD bike as in the end I found nearly usless. I've had the new bike for 2 weeks and it's got 600 miles on it 200 off road. I didn't quite do the mototune break-in but I used some of the principals. This is my first Kawasaki though as I've mostly been a Honda guy they just didn't have a bike to really compete with this one IMHO. I've got a 14 year old son and we ride bikes and 4 wheelers on the weekends although I like it alot more than he does. I really burned him out when he was little and sometimes he just dosen't want to ride with dad. Well that's me so hello folks I look forward to sharing my knowledge and reading yours.

Welcome to KF and congrats on the new ride.
Kids change as do we all. Hop on the ride and leave him home pulling weeds in the garden. lol My oldest kids are the same way. No mechanical or riding spirit. The youngest is all over it. Never misses a track day and has to be there to hand me tools and drink my energy drinks. lol

Thanks for the welcome, most of my posts will be dual sport and off road related as that is where it's at for me. This forum has been a good source of info so far as Kawa's are new to me as well as this bike so I look forward to learning and sharing when ever possible.

right on, I will not be prejudiced in that decision. lol Nothing better then having your family more stoked on the day to watch dad go play or until the fam wants to go ride with you. Good luck in your " good times"

Welcome Lin. (One advantage the Kaw's have over the Honda's, is that the Kaw charging system actually WORKS.) Glad to have your experience and knowledge among our group!
Post up some pics!
Gear up; stay safe.

Finally someone older than me....LOL Welcome to the forums man. I got a soon to be 14 year old, and since his mom won't ride her 2006 XT 225, I guess it's gonna be passed onto him. Glad you found the forum. Enjoy the bike, its a great all around everything bike. It loves the trails but isn't afraid to do a 700 mile road trip either...see ride report here>>>>>>> LINK
