My name is Jason and I just wanted to say Hello to everyone! I bought a used 2008 Yamaha XT 250 with 600 miles on it in October 2008. I realized I needed a better bike and bought a new Red KLX 250s in February. I traveled to Harrodsburg, KY (9 hours) and bought it from Lee's Inc. for $4,295 plus tax out the door! Great place to deal with! I love this Bike and this forum! The bike now has about 1200 miles on it and I look forward to many adventures.

 

Cool, nice price! But that's too long of a drive for me to buy a bike. How do you like your KLX compared to your old XT?

The XT felt like it had a little more low end grunt and a bigger fuel tank. The KLXs is better in every other way though! The drive to Kentucky was fun and it is a pleasure to do business with people who appreciate you are there! Around here in Hampton Roads the dealers seem to think you are bothering them if you don't want to pay MSRP and 7 other "set-up" fees.

Some better gearing or even a big bore and you'll get all the low end grunt you want!

 

Oh, I'm familiar with the Hampton Roads area. I was in the navy from 1986-1992, stationed on a destroyer in Norfolk from late 86 until early 89. I had a lot of fun there. Hit some bars around the Old Dominion campus, and of course Virginia Beach.
