Wiring Problem
I have a 1991 kx250 2 stroke, never had a doubt in the mechanical runs amazing. Tried to wire in a front light to the bike, and while doing so I tried to tap in to the orange ignition coil wire. Thought that would give me power to power the wire.
I hooked everything back up including the light, and bike wouldn’t not start. Unhooked light amd rehooked up all original wiring, still will not start up. Diagnosed to a no spark condition, I have bike stripped down to bare minimum in shop with all wires exposed, continuity test showed coil reading .5 - .6 ohms.
hooked coil back up, still no spark.
bike Is equipped with roostboostplus, don’t know what that is exactly think it’s coil booster.
Another thing to note I have cut the kill switch feed wire to attempt a ground to the light, however realized that would not work. but bike did start and run perfectly fine after I reattached kill switch wires to themselves.
I am leaning towards cdi but wondering if anyone else has any other ideas.
thanks- Wyatt
