Default 95 KX250 forks do not fit the top clamp of the triple tree

I know she’s an old bird…like me.

the top of the forks are loose inside the clamp. Loose like you can see daylight looking from above.

Was there a common swap done? I don’t have a caliper. (Getting one-on the way), but eying it with a ruler it’s looks to be off by about 5mm.

the top clamp (reportedly oem from eBay) opening looks like 52-53mm, and the top of the fork tube is about 48-49mm.

the entire engine and suspension have been overhauled. New top end and bottom. Forks and shock revalved. The bike actually rips pretty good. For my old body at least. This bike runs so well, I’d like to restore it with new plastics, paint..etc.

please help! I just want to ride this baby until I can get something newer. I live in idaho. We have the best trails, but we can’t ride all year.
