Default WTB Stock klx 300 Black Tank

Hey guys, If anyone finds or locates a stock klx300 black tank cheap in good shapeand I get it I'll send ya a Florida Lobster tail or two on dry ice. A newOEM one is $400+ from kawi....yeah I know about the green one on ebay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The black tanks are hard to find. They only used them in the last couple years. I looked for one for awhile then I finally got the clarke. I'm guessing you want the black 300 tank so you can use some aftermarket black 300 shrouds. Thats what my plan was at least.

You're right 2k1...they were only black from 04 - 07. My bike is going black and not going back.

I found a new one for $380....just holding out.....my current rad shrouds are shot and at $70/each this is the way I'm going. Because I will break them again....gotta slow down .. lol

Besides the Clark is $200 and holds 2.7 gal and the stock 300 holds 2.6 gal... good enough...but I will have to rig a cooliing fan forthe 300tank.

Oh Pie, paint will not stick to a plastic gas tank....and if it would I would just paint it myself in my shop.

Shameless bump.

I don't understand how a plastic gas tank can cost $400+. The only thing is I don't think that the 300 shrouds look as good as the 250s shrouds do. But once there is some dirt on it you can't tell the difference anyway.

Why not get a black IMS? You need to do all the mods for the IMS to fit the 300 tank as well.

I agree with both of those assessments, I even checked the price of our steel klx 250 tank on bike bandit and it was almost $100 less...wtf. I also agree that the shrouds for the klx300 do not look nearly as good as our bike does.

I would rather get the Clark tank....with the IMS tank I have to cut my klx shrouds to work AND do the fan mod. The klx 300 shrouds will not work with it that is why I am leaning to the stock klx300 tank. I can at least buy aftermarket klx300 plastic....there will never be any aftermarket klx250 plastic. And the bike WILL crash again.

The whole point of this exercise is to be able to use aftermaket Rad shrouds and have a little bigger tank.

Now if I could use the IMS tank and slap on some aftermarket kx shrouds I would be golden...they are even cheaper than the klx 300 shrouds. [:@]

Just get a green Acerbis tank. Only $200 and you don't need rad shrouds or any mods. She drops right in.
