He speaks the truth. Plus, when you break one it's replaced, no questions asked. 'Course any damage you do to your bike in the process is all yours....
Point is, buy good stuff and you won't regret it. I'm sure there are as many opinions here about tool brands as pipes (and thats a bunch) but the bottom line will be the same - quality counts.
Belly up and get a whole set of metrics. You want it cheap go to a pawn shop and buy used, in todays economy good used tools are 5 cents on the dollar. I'd much prefer a 20 yr old Craftsman/Snap-On/MAC/ect wrench to a new Wally World China piece that breaks off in my hand when I try to use it. Pawn shops are also a good place to fill in a set that have some gaps.
If you think you might have a problem recognizing good tools just open up the "tool kit" that Kawi "gives" us with our bikes. Take any piece you want and go somewhere that sells decent stuff. See, that was easy....

I actually much prefer my Husky (HomeDepot brand) ratchets over my Craftsman. The Craftsman ratchets I bought about 10 years ago have a very coarse ratchet action and are always slipping out of gear.. I like my husky better. Shop around a bit and check out the different sets, there's always something on sale either at HD (Husky), Lowes (Kobalt) or Sears (Craftsman) They're all good tools compared to dollar store china junk, get what you like. While you[re at Sears, dont forget a copy of their '09 tools catalog!! ultimate ****erature . .

Get a medium quality set of metrics, unless you are wrenching professionally you don't need to waste money on the top quality stuff. A good medium quality set will last an average rider a long time

How many bolts and nuts do you need to ruin before the "cheap" wrenches and sockets become expensive?
If you wait for holiday sales, Sears Craftsman sets can be bought for barely more then those no-name low quality wrenches from the third world that spread and break destroying your parts.
