go right to the motion-pro website.

this is all you need. when you install this you dont use the push cable anymore, its a single cable throttle.

Here is a link to Dennis Kirk and my take on throttles. I have used a few different single cable throttles with my KLX and the Vortexis a very niceshort throw throttle. Just be aware that the cable threads and the throttle threads are a different pitch and are not the same. The cable will screw in and stay but you will probably have to do all your adjusting at the carb end. I am working on finding a "stock cable" that will work correctly with my FCR or I will have one made. The Vortexis one of the shortest throws, about the same as a Terry Cable Gasser that I have tried at a third of the cost. The Terry Cable looks cool and worked good when new but it has a design flaw that wears out the throttle tube stop. The throttle does not and can not add power but changes the rate ofopening between the carb and throttle. IMO it is much better than thewrist wrenching of the stock throttle. I have used and am also playing around with some other throttles and cables that are a little in between the Vortex and stock unit because therehave been a few times I think the Vortex/Gasser was to short of a throw in a few off road conditions, "whiskey throttle". So far the Vortex is the only single cable throttle I have found that will "work" with one of the stock cables.

Bill Blue made me a cable for my vortex throttle. He had to order my carb, so I asked him to get me a throttle too. He made me a cable for it and I don't think he even charged me for it. I would think he'd make one for you. b_jblue@sbcglobal.net

Great. Thanks for the info. I have been searching for a "stock" cable but it's been difficult. About all I have been able to do is look through the limited stock my local dealers have had. I was hoping to find a stock cable because a few of us were going to put some kits together and ordering stock parts will make it much easier. So far the closest cable I have seen that looks like it might workis for a Vortex conversion on a Yamaha YFZ four wheeler. I have not tried it yet because I think the total cable length isat least6-8" to long and I haven't figured out a satisfactory, to me, way of dealing with the extra length. I may be contacting Bill Blue and hopefully he can make me up some cables if I go that rout.

i am sorry to dig up old dirt but i just got a vortex throttle for my KLX300R. So i get it out of the box and begin installing well about 3/4 of the way through i get the bolts snugged up and i dont have much play in the throttle. i went from 1/2 turn to like and 1/8 of a turn. so i decided to take a break and think about it. so then after that i went back and monkeyed with it. and i think the stock KLX300R cable is to short, i might have to get a stock 250s cable that is longer. i just wondering if this has been thank you for any post and information.

Hey Chris,
Research if the other cable off my 250 would work. I don't need it and will send it to ya if it will work. Just pay shipping.

I love my vortex throttle

Every one of you reading this needs to go out and get one. I promise you won't regret it

hey thanks but i think i got it going. i just waited till my dad got up and we both decided to hack a little bit of the bigging of the throttle and then mokyed with the bottom and the carb. i will have to get some pictures up. i love it now and the new hand grips are awsome. I hated reaching for more throttle now you can go full bore.
