What oil to use for '07 KLX250s?

Alright, my pops and I did the oil change earlier today. We used 1.5 quarts of Motul 5100 10w40 and replaced the filter with a K&N. The bike seems to run a little better than before when it had the old, crappy oil in it.

Thanks for all of the help you guys have given me. I really do appreciate it!

BP, +1 on what he said. I've used Castrol in everthing with an engine for over 30 years, no problems. Somewhere on this site is an oil poll where you can see everyone's preference.

Short story is most any commercially available suitable oil will give your engine max service life, so long as you do it regularly. Opinions as to oil change intervals are as numerous as our membership, but I'd submit to you that there is no such thing as "over maintenance" anymore for than for aircraft, cars, boats, etc. Take care of your stuff and it will take care of you.
