It was just brought to my attention that my Precision rack is for an '09, and will not fit an earlier bike. A visit to the website will visually confirm a difference in product. Sorry, OP, but I will likely not be able to help you.

I have a 2013 KLX 250 and have a Moose rack on back. Nice and sturdy and not overly big...

Thanks for the suggestion and for posting the picture. I think I'm looking for a little bit wider rack (aren't we all?), but this is an option to consider.

Default looking for rack for Rotopak set up

That Moose rack does look great. I'd like to attack a ROTOPAK Fuel container on the rack so I don't run out of fuel going cross country. I just got a 2014 Klx.

I find the rotopax take up to much space i went with two of the document holders and fabbed up a mount. I can carry 3000 ml of extra fuel, plus when i am day tripping i find i stuff all sorts of stuff in there, jackets, wet clothes from fishing, water, hydroflasks, all sorts of stuff.
It has survived multiple drops, trees and other immovable objects that refused to get out of my way.

Mr Hardline - can you send me some more pics of your setup? I'm intrigued. Which rack have you affixed those two tubes?

Here are some more images. This should work with any rack that you end up finding. If you need better pics i will have to do it when i get home.
I am hitting the road for the next 25ish days fly fishing my way around the state and up to northern NH.
The water bottle holders on the radiator shrouds can also fit another 2 1500ml fuel bottles if i really need to. So that brings me to about 1.5 gallons of extra fuel with decent weight distribution, front to back on the bike.
