Default want to remove snorkel / adding megabomb.. jetting suggestions?

I want to remove my snorkel and I have a new header on the way... i am jetted for the DJ settings for stock header. what are your jetting suggestions? should I remove snorkel or entire airbox lid? of course, I want to get the most out of the little 250 as possible! but i feel removing the lid completely makes it too vulnerable to water?

I suggest riding it without the lid on for a while and then decide. It is significantly louder with more vibration.

Dynojet has instructions on line, I'm at stage two and it runs best without the lid but I run it without a snorkle. I couldn't tell much of a difference jetting wise for the addition of a powerbomb alone.

I'm running the KDX 200 snorkle with Stage 2 except I went with the 124 main jet instead of the recommended 128. This is working well at sea level, and when I go to higher altitudes it gives me the option of just removing my cover rather than re-jetting.

No, you don't. But you may run on the leaner side of things and may want to bump your main jet size up, which can be done with Kaw jets. May also want to remove the plug so you can adjust the air/fuel mix screw (out = richer). The biggest benefit of the Dynojet kit is their needle. It's much more aggressive and fixes the lean-surge many of us have at mid throttle/rpm running.

what size jet should i bump up to? i've already removed the plug and have the dynojet stage 1 mixture screw in there (D142)... i was wodnering how many turns you guys have your fuel mix screw at, mines at the instructed 3 turns, not sure what to tweak it to if i want to run without snorkel
