Default Undertail mess

I have the edge tail light kit and it drives me nuts that the underside of the tail is unfinished. Has anyone made a plate or anything that cleans up the underside any? I've been thinking of doing a fiberglass/kevlar/carbon undertail section that I could paint black to make it look nice & clean, has anyone tried this?

It would seem overly expensive and way too time consuming to fabricate anything out of such exotic materials as kevlar or carbon fiber, even the more commonplace fiberglass, if you're just going to paint over it anyway. Maybe you could try a nylon cutting board as found at places like Walmart. If you're concerned about weight or strength, you can try a site that specializes in cut-to-order pieces of various materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, plastics and plexi-glass. Try this place.

I've got the edge tail light and have no mess. I cut the wire to the proper length, soldered them, and ran them in over the frame but under the plastic. Looks great and has performed flawless. There are no wires showing.

i found a place with overstock on carbon & kevlar, it's not much more than fiberglass for the amount i would end up using. additionally, i'm just looking for an interesting winter project involving something i've never used before.

ive messed with fiberglass with a friend, if you could make a half desect mold and did everything right, i think its way possable. ive seen build threads for home made one peice front ends for 9 second honda dragsters, just takes time.
