Default unabiker rad guards installed

Okay..here are some pics and my version of the installation process for the unabiker rad guards..

with bike on stand, first pull off rad covers, disconnect gnd wires from top of rads (each side), remove plastic deflectors from each rad andswap the reflectors and bracketsfrom left fork to right fork...

Note: It's also easier to install left side rad guard by unbolting the horn and hanging it out of the way and having the right tools helps, be sure u have either a long t-handle set of allen wrenches or a extension set with the allen bits to reach the inner mounting bolts.

Install the rods to the rad guard face covers using the shorter bolts provided, but do not tighten the outside bolts, the inside ones (the inside of the face cover has the larger tabs for securing it to the bike frame) can be tightened

next undo the radiator bolts and wedge the unabiker rad guard facecover between the rad mounts and the frame and loosely install the new m4 bolts, then attach the support bracket to the face covers (note remove the outside bolts from the rods beforehand) and secure them to the face covers and frame using the specified bolts...once all bolts are in place snug them up

instructions also say to remove the clutch cable bracket and flip it upside down and re-install (I used a washer on the new bolt to prevent the head from spreading the bracket)..it slips in thru one of the slots in the face cover..see above pic....and the fender will rub slightly on the cable, but what do u do?

then re-install the gnd wires (note u will need nuts for the gnd wire on the right side as the oe nutsare molded into the plastic deflectors which were removed), horn and finally the side covers.....

other side..note the bottom plastic rad cover screw did not want to install/align soI trimmed the inside of my plastic rad cover a bit as it was hitting the unabiker support, butI don't know if this was the fix or not asI alsoadjusted the support bracket with a hammer to help align the holes...

and finally buttoned back up....

I'm glad they made it safe and sound through customs during the Christmas rush.

With the Unabiker guards installed, is there any motivation to keep the shrouds installed? I think there's at least one person out there who has chosen to remove the shrouds.

Hmmmm wouldn't it look like this?

Ok maybe not that bad, but not sure how good it would look without the shrouds. Kind of like a car without the front fenders?
