Default Unabike Rad Guards Fitted.

Hi All,

Put some Unabiker radiator guards on the KLX, not an overly hard task, no draining of coolant or removing hoses etc, the only issue I had was some of the bolts that shipped with the guards were too long, some of the ones that were 25mm I had to swap for 20mm bolts, especially the ones that go into the tank, I felt if I tightened them any further I was going to put a hole through the tank.. Anyway a couple of pics below..

Cheers
Chris.

You don't need to, at least I didn't need to.

What brake hose is that? Where did you get it? Does it fit well?

Hey WestOZ, thats a bill blue special, what a guy, ordered from him and arrived in 3 days from the states, yes the cable makes an amazing difference, I have some feeling in the front brake now.. I'll post a couple more pics of it, that;s one mod i forgot to post. The only drama was bleeding the brakes, it seemed to take forevor and lots of pumping compared to other cables I have done.. But that's not the cables fault... The sponginess has all gone compared to the stock cable and first ride I had to always be conscience of the new cable as it pulled up a lot quicker than stock.

Cheers
Chris.

Wink

Chris ....you may want to keep an eye on the back of the front fender for signs of the cable chaffing it....a simple solution I did (and others) was to put a couple of washers on the rear mounting bolts. This just tips the fender enuf to allow the cable to clear it, but not so much you notice any difference in appearance.

Thanks MudJunkie, I did notice that and put some tape around the cable, the washers are a good Idea, never thought of that.

Cheers
Chris.
