For those that are running Trakmasters. What are you running the tire pressure at on the street?

I notice you're here in Texas also. With our temps, and if you're running tubes, you might want to stay up around 24-25 with knobbies for any highway running for more than just a few miles. However, since you're running knobbies, I'm guessing you're not cruising over to Galveston at highway speeds. Knobbies squirm more and that produces more heat. Couple that with tubes and you might either blow a tube or at least kill the tire a lot sooner with any decent pavement mileage. I think this would only surface during our summer months, but depending on how, when, and where you're riding on pavement, it's just something to keep in mind. I realize most of us with full knobbies...even DOT models...aren't droning on for long highway miles in the heat, but since it wasn't mentioned, it's just something to consider. It gets hot down here. Remember last summer?

I do end up on the road quite a bit, just to get to the trails or our meets. We have a meet every Tue where I have to ride the freeway 26 miles to get there, 70-80 MPH. Did it last Tue with 15psi up front and 18psi in the rear. Never had any issues, still grabbed good on the tight curved paved bike trails we were riding and I was not taking it easy. Freeway ride it handled fine other than the severe need to balance my tires. Thinking of swapping to my Kenda K761's for now.

I try to ride somewhere around 25 psi on the pavement with the *****. Not very particular with exact pressures, as long as I'm above 20 psi or so. I recall others posting that **** wear on pavement can be odd and uneven at lower pressures.

Then I'll air down when I hit the trail to somewhere around 11-13 up front and 12-15 in back.
