Default Too much Oil?

quick question:
a few days ago after the kickstart kit was installed on my 2007 and it seemd as though
the oil level was a little low once it ran for a few hours, i added some oil and the level looked good, but maybe a little high.
after 2 days of riding and feeling like the bike wasn't getting up to power as quickly and
was sounding/feeling somewhat sluggish i checked the oil level again and saw it was definitely overfilled.
i took out almost a 1/2 quart of oil till it was between the "upper and lower level marks"
on the case...now it's good, running well and crisp again, but i'm worried about
running it for a couple of days with 1/2 quart too much oil.
anythings i should be aware of, things to look for or to check, or am i just
being paranoid?

thanks for any help/advice.

Blown seals can be a problem.
You'll know because you'll see a puddle of oil on the floor when she's warmed up.
No oil, no problem.

The problem with too much oil is that the the crank churns it up. The oil then becomes aerated and oil pumps are made to pick up liquid. so even though you are over full, Your engine is starving for oil. I don't understand why anyone would add more than needed when the window clearly shows the oil level.

The oil sight glass was checked with the motorcycle veritcal and not on the side stand on level ground wasn't it? On the sidestand I could probably get another 1/2 L/Qt of oil in it. However, I just follow the instructions on the motorcycle that lists 1.5L as the proper amount which gets it to the right point in the sight glass when I take it off the side stand.

Check it 3 minutes after turning off your engine at normal operating temperature.
