Default Tire Pressure

I have my tire pressure set at 13F and 14R. (Stock Dunlop 603's and no rim locks) I ride in mostly dry and rocky terrain. I understand that the wetter looser the conditions you should use less pressure. I don't have that much experience to relate to and was wondering what everyone else is running and how it is working for them.

I would recommend around 16 - 20 PSI. This should be ample and not require rim locks. If you want to go lower then look into rim locks. I don't think this bike has enough torque or power hit to worry about it to much though.

i had rimlocks installed a month or so ago.. i dont think their absolutely necessary torque wise with this bike but if ur runnin low pressure, i dont think itd be hard to hit a rock etc and spin a tire if ya came down the right way after catchin a little air or loftin the front tire... guess id rather be safe than sorry.

+ 1 on the recommended tire pressure.

My dirtbike tires had a recommended 15 front 15 rear for track riding but they had rim locks as well so we would drop them down to 10 f, 12 r when riding in deeper sand.

I would think the min pressure you would want, ex rim locks is 15 F&R, but I would think that for the type of riding your doing, 16 F and 18 or 20 rear should be spot on....

Oh, and don't forget to remove the valve stem nut at the rim. This allows for some slight movement without ripping the stem loose from the tube.

So if you don't have any rim locks and don't plan on getting any what would be the safest bet for the road and the dirt?

I would think you would run full tire pressure (~ 20psi) plus loosen the valve stem nut as mmatz suggested just to be sure. I figure if you ran like that, there is very little chance you are going to rip a stem off.
