Time for a street bike!!

the '08 Ninja 250R engine has been extensively updated along with the rest of the bike. Check it out, I've heard it makes MORE power. I had an '01 Ninja 250R for a month and had it topped out purner near 120 mph. The new one will outhandle the old one severely and looks 1000 times better as well. The old ones will be given away now with the 1985 styling.

I'd like to see real numbers, but I don't see how, in any way the new 250R is going to top out faster than the old 250R.

I had almost 35,000 miles on my KLR and loved it, but sold it last year - wish I hadn't. It is a big bike and rather unruly on tight trails but otherwise I'd get another as long as it was pre-08. My Kawi/Honda dealer here is willing to give me a pretty good trade in value for my KLX - he has two new '07's still in stock, pretty tempting!

I'm with Deej I like the 08 klr's better than the 07. All these pics are getting me worked up[sm=bounceybounce.gif].

And yes is was dreaming at work today.

That does look real good. And it would be nice to own the road. I just wonder if they will need a spatula to scrap me off the road after I crash . That bike looks like it going 100mph standing still!!
I know, to each his own - but the KLR '08 IMO is but ugly, I know it's a better bike than earlier models but I just couldn't get use to that batcycle fairing!
Now the 610 Husky is absolutely sweeeeet looking!!

I agree totally with what you're saying except on the engine. Kawasaki made some changes to the cam profile and cylinder head port design to give much better low to midrange power. But peak HP is actually lower now, and the '08 weighs more.
I'd like to see real numbers, but I don't see how, in any way the new 250R is going to top out faster than the old 250R.
