A few folks here have reported good results with Moto-Pro Suspension: http://www.moto-pro.com/

Last time I checked, they do not list the KLX250S springs on their website. You will need to call them: 1-800-277-5089 Apparently, they will ask you a few questions about the terrain you ride, riding style and weight. With that, they will recommend the proper spring rates.

I haven't taken the plunge yet, but plan to do so this winter. At least one forum member has had them do a re-valve job as well. I wonder how much difference is noticed over the stock valves?

I have had a couple of email inquiries with them. They do not recommend using lowering links.

+1 Moto-Pro.

On some high speed stuff I would bottom the fork without the tire ever leaving the ground. I Put in some MP springs & it instantly felt better on road, have not taken them off yet. MAde a difference in front end dive on braking also but since I beffed up my brakes at the same time I can still get them down there

You can spend hours tuning your suspension, it's comparable to getting the jetting *just right*. It's a science and an art. Having the correct springs is a must to get it tuned well. You have rebound and compression dampening on the rear, and just compression dampening on the front. I don't know what they're set at out of the factory.

The front is 16 way, so you turn the screw clockwise until it seats lightly, then back it out 8 clicks. Get a baseline for how that feels and adjust accordingly.

The rear, you have to set the sag(preload) first. You'll need two people to do that. There's a good video on youtube from dirtbike TV setting up a KLX. Compression dampening is how much the spring will compress, rebound is how quickly it "springs" back.

While riding the other weekend, some guy mention Ohlins rear shocks only being ~$300. Was he even close to reality with that price? Ohlins seems to be a top of the line shock but, on other rides they seem to cost in the area of $1,000 but, that could have the Euro/USD conversion rate on the Euro-bikes.

What sorts of price ranges are we talking for upgraded suspensions. I'm getting really tired of the harsh shudder over tar snakes and concrete joints on our poor maintained public roads.

$300 seems awfully short. When I was eyeiung one for my street bike the $700-$1000 range depoending on options was more realistic.

There is a lot of reading here all aboutsuspension that should help you out. The very first thing you should do is make sure you have the correct spring weights for your riding weight. If you don't it is impossible to get everything adjusted correctly as you will read.

Thanks for the feedback! I am only 155 Lbs so I was hoping the stock springs would be pretty good for me. I'll read the PlanetKlx stuff & see how I make out. Thanks again for all the great responses. Love this Bike Man!!!

I read in the manual that the bike is factory set for a rider of 150lbs so IMO you are right there..your OEM springs and shock should be correct for you, maybe just a tweek to suit your needs.

thanks mooredan,

just went to that motopro site...they have a great feature where you can enter your bike, weight, riding style and in return they provide a reccomended spring and shock for your bike, even gives the bushings and dust seals and fork oil...really cool.
