Default Suspension Adjustment

Does anyone know of a good thread that explains, in detail, how to adjust all aspects of our bikes' suspension? I would love to find a thread that shows lots of pictures and walks you through each part.

I found this on youtube but it's far from detailed.

LOL... I know what you mean, I'm 300lbs and know it's not setup for me, but have no idea how to adjust it for my weight, would be nice that it didn't look like a sag mobile when I'm riding it...

This thread seems pretty good, but if the 06/07 KLX has 11 inches of travel and the recommended sag is 93mm, then the 09/10 (with only 9.1 inches of travel) must have 77mm of sag!

Doesn't 77mm seem too little?

At your weight you'll have to get new springs before you try any adjusting.

I weigh about 165 without gear so I'm guessing my springs will be ok. I just need to know how to do the adjustments...

Well, I just checked my factory set race sag and it appears to be perfect. 78mm.

I just need to figure out how to check the fork sag and adjust rebound/compression.

I like the Thumpertalk sticky under the suspension forum. It covers sag, spring rate, and many, many other issues.

redpillar,

This is perfect! The only question I have to all the smart people out there... what should race sag be on an 09? Is 77mm correct? Everything I read says dirt bikes should be about 100mm but I know the 09 has a couple of inches less travel.

Thanks

How do I figure out what I need for springs or a link to point me in the right direction?
