Sadly, adjusting it didnt make the difference I thought it would. Today the surge was more noticeable AND it was colder out (15celcius). So, is that a too rich or to lean issue? This is the surge while at speed and over 3000rpm.
well i believe it is too lean

yesterday i was running out of gas ( as you know your bike leans out when the happens) my bike was surging at 70 mph just before.

I would go up on your main jet it sounds like you still stock

Ya I think it`s time to try that...I guess if I'm going to do the main, I might as well to the kit?
I was hoping to ride it for a season without doing any customizing, but I guess it's a question of whether I can handle the surge.

Last question....I haven't seen any posts/replies on this or other related topics suggesting timing. Maybe thats another post, but just thinking out loud here. Maybe as the the bike breaks in, the cam chain slacks a bit from the auto cam adjuster not working properly?

Just a thought.

Thanks again for all the replies.

Ian

mine surged before i did the jets
purchase the DJ jet kit stage 1-2
only do the stage one until you jet a pipe and air box

Ya think I`ll try that DJ kit...fuel screw does little if anything.

Thanks,

Ian

The OEM needle has a terrible emissions profile designed into it, and that can aggravate surging when everything else isn't perfectly set up. The DJ needle will go a long way to improve throttle response and cruising smoothness.
