1 gallon

 

Tank was half filled with cheap gas. Filled the other half with mid-grade. Yes, about a gallon.

 

I was wondering about the reason for half a tank of fuel. I get it.
I guess I'll find out when I put better fuel in.

I was shocked that was all it took to make a difference.

 

Think about this how much cheap gas is in the hose and pump before you get the premium fuel ??? i heard 1/2 gallon not sure though

 

Ya that's why I typically won't fill the bike with a combination pump. Might not make a difference on a car, but on a bike it will. Some stations have a dedicated premium pump for that reason.

i havn't seen a pump like that in years

 

chevron, shell, etc have the combo pumps, cheap arco, texaco, etc. have individual pumps

 

Texacos been gone from Canada for years...at least in Ontario! I remember a local Texaco back in the late 60's where we're we all rode our bikes to buy gum from and talk about riding motorcycles someday!

 

Just thought I'd mention that today I removed that plug covering the fuel screw...what a pain in the ****....had to remove the carb to do it....
Sadly, adjusting it didnt make the difference I thought it would. Today the surge was more noticeable AND it was colder out (15celcius). So, is that a too rich or to lean issue? This is the surge while at speed and over 3000rpm.
